The Art of Holly Geddes
Holly Geddes’ warm and uniquely personal style captures the rich culture and stateliness of the historic Mid-Atlantic region. Earlier work featured scenes from Colorado and the middle of Maryland. Through her career she has been drawn to both still life and landscape. She likes to focus on particular pieces of a landscape as well as a complete panorama. She has done a limited number of figures and portraits. What captivates Holly is color and the play of light. She is interested in capturing the mood of her environment.
The work of Holly shows the strong influence of photography both in the natural color and fine detail. In exploring the variety of color and techniques and using a variety of painting media including pen & ink, oils, water color, pastels and glass paint, Holly displays her gift for rendering the moments and settings that catch her eye.
There are many of Holly Geddes' creations available, including landscapes, still-life paintings, portraits, and small gift items. She has also done work for hire in decorative painting on furniture and wall murals for both homes and workplaces.
